State Department Issues Global Travel Caution

Potential threats to American citizens are on the rise.

The U.S. State Department issued a travel alert Thursday advising Americans overseas to exercise caution due to the increase in tensions and threats against U.S. citizens. The department specifically indicated the Middle East, Israel, and Lebanon in “do not travel” warnings.

The worldwide caution was issued as global tensions due to the Israel-Hamas war present the potential for direct threats to American citizens. Officials specifically cite the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations, or violent actions against U.S. citizens. The caution includes directives to “stay alert in terrorist locations,” to “enroll in STEP,” a smart traveler program.

FBI Director Christopher Wray also issued a “grave warning of imminent terror attacks” on American soil.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Blinken to seek God’s guidance as he oversees U.S. diplomatic efforts.
  • For the safety of U.S. embassy officials and ambassadors as they represent the nation around the world.
  • For Americans who are traveling abroad to heed the State Department’s cautions.
